EE-8 Field Phone leather case

Finally! Fantastic Replacement leather cases for the EE-8 series field phones... perfect for replacing rotted originals or swapping from the later canvas case models for the earlier war look! Complete with strap and new US Made Scoville brand "Lift The Dot" fasteners.Comes in Natural Leather color just as issued. Leather has a Wax impregnation, that will help in keeping your phone safe and lasting for years to come. If one wishes to darken it, the wax can be easily removed by giving the case a wipe down of paint thinner and a warm bath.

Note !: These fit snug and swap out isn't 100% drop in (closer to like 97%). You'll need to do some wrangling and possible wet forming (like jump boots) to get it together. We also HIGHLY suggest a second set of hands to assist. The final screw holes on the body will need to be drilled/punched out by the buyer to get final exact fit. We'll be posting a "how to guide" shortly, but its a simple all pretty simple and roughly a 20 min job.

We only have 2 dozen of these on hand due to the cost of making them. Leather ain't cheap and neither is stitching these thick hidesI If you need one, highly suggest you get one while you can, doubt we'll do another run for several years. We also have brand new made to spec CC-333 cords being made currently in both prewar and early war Brown, and wartime/post war black. Those will be in sometime around new years.

Stitch-not-see note: We know that "mud-poof" (or closed face) female LTDs were the standard on these things, but repaired cases and at least one MFG during the war did substitute them out for regular LTDs for a brief timeframe. The main problem with the "mud-proofs" is 1.) they are prone to failing if not installed correctly. 2.) They don't exist anymore. Anywhere. We looked. Seems like the last supply was made wartime and used up by the military in the early 60s on M9 mask bags... we were offered to have a run of them made... but we aren't blessed with being able to fork out 10s of thousands of dollars for 24 cases (and there ain't much else that uses them.). One might be able to salvage the ones off ratted out original bags and swap them out, but we haven't tried it. Long story short... real US Made Scoville Lift The Dots are the next best thing... and frankly have better functionality and durability...and most of all... they also are correct.
