M1917 Tripod Fine traverse worm gear assembly

As most of us know, unmolested WWI era 1917 tripods are rarer than rocking horse poo with only a handful known to be left in existence (most in museums), they’re considered a Grail piece by many. Almost every single worm gear assembly was removed from service and destroyed in the 1920s, we are not aware of any that have ever found their way onto the open market on the loose.

After obtaining all the original blueprints and drawings from RIA (and their revisions). We spent thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollars to have the drawings redrawn and modeled in CAD. At the beginning of this year we finally finished the entire drawing set and set forth using “the voodoo we do” in logistics to find appropriate contractors for the various components. Components are now currently underway to be manufactured with an estimated delivery of NLT March 1 2027. We do not expect it to be that long, but are giving ourselves wiggle room for unexpected component delivery delays.

This option is for a complete ready to mount WWI correct M1917 Fine Traverse Assembly. Featuring 100% new made parts to the original RIA blueprints, assembled and completed right here in house at the OOC warehouse. All parts finished to factory specification just as they were when first delivered to the Army almost 110 years ago. (Product photos show CAD assembly of components. Purchase is for a complete assembly ready to be installed on your tripod socket. NOTE: These will ONLY fit 1917 sockets that have the hole for the mechanism. These will not mount on later socket revisions that have the hole missing from the casting. Fairly obvious I know, but... theres always that one guy...)

Once they are complete, buyers will be contacted and final invoiced for shipping (we can't give an estimate as it fluctuates too frequently but they should all fit in a small USPS flat rate for under $15). Local pickup or free delivery to the Spring Tulsa Arms Show is always an option as well.

As this is a Pre-Order, please realize expected delivery is NLT March 1st 2027. If delivery date moves in either direction, you will be updated here ASAP. When theres new milestone updates, it will be posted here and the 1919a4 forum ASAP. Otherwise "no news is good news" as they say. You're always free to contact us, but any pertinent updates will be given as stated. These should be ready to ship out by Christmas.

If for any unexpected reason for needing a refund arrises on your end, please note that refunds will not be able to be processed until a backup buyer to take your place in line is found as nearly all proceeds are going strait logistics for finishing this project. So please use decrement prior to ordering.

If you have ever wanted one of these tripods or needed the components/parts, not coming from the seller of them but more as a fellow collector and Browning enthusiast, please jump on it while we have these. We know theres more than 50 people (12 in the case of whole tripods) on the planet that want them... 1000% no sales gimmick, this is the only run of them I ever plan to do and I don’t think they’ll be up for very long. There won’t be any more after this. We have no doubt that these will only appreciate in value after they're gone, even as repros.
